The ECA
The ECA is the longest established governing body for the electrical contracting industry in England. The Electrical Contractors Association have certified that Better Heating and Lighting Ltd in Ealing, have passed the rigorous demands of the Technical Compliance in commercial, industrial and residential buildings as recently as August 2018.
ECA GUARANTEE
Being a member of the ECA entails rigid assessment of our ability to comply with all aspects of being an electrical contractor. As a result, the ECA guarantee for a period of six years, that all work carried out by Better Heating and Lighting Ltd complies with BS7671 (2022). In addition we guarantee our workmanship for a period of ten years. Materials and products supplied carry the normal manufacturers guarantee and Better Heating and Lighting Ltd reserve the right to charge a service if the manufacturers guarantee is invoked.
TECHNICAL COMPLIANCE
Qualification
We are assessed every 3 years by the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) who ensure that all our work complies with The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Requirements for Electrical Installations in Buildings BS7671 (2022), the very latest Edition.
3. We are Part of PART P- Building Regulations
Part P of Building Regulations was introduced by the Government in 2005. It affects most electrical work carried out in dwellings. This demands that all Electricians who 'self certificate' must undergo an Annual Technical Assessment by a Government appointed agency to become a 'Skilled Person'. Persons who are not registered with Part P must notify the Local Authority Building Control Department for an inspector to examine their work and certify it. Failure to comply is a criminal offence and the Local Authority has the power to require the removal of the installation that does not comply. Better Heating and Lighting Ltd in Ealing is technically assessed every year by Elecsa inspectors in order to comply with the government legislation. Better Heating and Lighting Ltd have been assessed annually since 2007. In 2021 Elecsa began operating under the NICEIC organisation.
